Unit 2: Consumer Reports
In this unit, students will learn about Consumer Reports through reading several and comparing the reports. They will focus on common non-fiction elements such as titles, subtitles, charts, graphs, images, and legends. They will also learn about and practice the steps in the Scientific Method. After completing a practice Consumer Report test on Band-Aids, students will select their own product for testing and design 4 appropriate tests with controlled variables in order to determine which of their products is the best. They will use their research information to write their own original Consumer Report.
